So, yeah....OW! It was at around 1:45 this morning, and hurt like a son of a gun.

Anybody been stung before? How the heck long is this going to freakin' hurt? It feels okay as long as I keep an ice pack on it. As soon as I take it off, it starts hurting again.

Aren't you suppose to go to the doctor? You're going to get sick!
Nope...everything online (surprisingly) said that I'd be just fine, unless I'm allergic. There was (also surprisingly) no swelling--which is also normal. The way it felt I expected my leg to look like a softball was stuck under my skin.
It only said to go to the dr. if my extremities started hurting/tingling (or something like that) and if I had blurred vision.
Well, according to this post, around 6 hours of increasing pain (which is about right) and then it should start to die down. It's definitely not as bad as it was a few hours ago (even managed to sleep some finally), so I guess I'm on the road to recovery and should stop whining.

They can be in rare cases to some people. Generally as an adult it will just hurt like hell. If stung you should call poison control. They'll tell you how you should feel, anything else you should go to the emergency room.
Something along the lines of increasing pain for about six hours, then it should die down.
I'm glad you're doing a little better. Never been stung, but I know people who have. My friend Bobby had an infestation in his apartment in Chandler and didn't know about it. Got stung 5 times by babies. He didn't have health insurance back then, so he rode it out and slept for 3 days straight. He refused to let anyone take him to a clinic, so the bastard made us wait it out while he writhed in agony all the time. I thought for sure he was going to die.
My grandfather was stung several times over 40 years by black widows and scorpions and he'd do what you do. One time he passed out, though, and had to be taken in. He was a stubborn bastard, too.
That sucks Linder, I HATE scorpions...although now that I have been stung they aren't as scary as they were before.
When I was a freshman in high school, I got up one morning to go to school....put on my T-shirt, and inside of it was a scorpion. Got me three times on the back and twice on the chest. Hurt like hell, but since it was a gameday I couldn't miss more than 2 class periods if I wanted to play. So I still went to school that day and played in the football game. They hurt like hell but if you aren't alergic to them its just a lot more painfull bee sting. So the moral of the story is, don't lay any clothes on the ground....cause it hurts like hell and is damn confusing to be stung five times right after you wake up and have no idea what is going on.
We were sleeping & neither of us had the comforter on...got cold & pulled it up over myself & a few seconds later I woke up wondering what the hell I just stabbed my leg on. I kept staring at my leg waiting for it to start bleeding to figure out where exactly I was hurt. Just kept getting worse & worse & finally I woke dcr up because it didn't start bleeding & I knew something was wrong. Then a few seconds later it crawled across my leg & I completely freaked out for a second.
dcr didn't see it so I think he kinda thought I had lost my mind. He eventually found it, though & killed it.
Still hurts a lot, but just kind of a nagging burning pain now...not that intense pain from earlier. I don't know if my fibromyalgia is making me register it more (we losers don't process pain properly) or if this is just normal. But at least it's tolerable now.
Can't even imagine getting stung 5 times in the back. I'd swear a ghost was stabbing me to death if that happened!
Hope you're feeling better. I have never seen a scorpion must less get stung by one.
I was bit by a brown recluse spider 2 years ago. Trips to the doctor and antibiotics cured me. I was helping moving a computer desk out of my youngest room and he got me.
I blame it on the landlord. It should be sprayed of pests. He never did anything about it though. Oh well, got my own big nice home now and I have it sprayed regularly.
Talk to your landlord linderbee, maybe he can spray for pests. When I got bit, I told my landlord that he's lucky one of my grandbabies didn't get bit our I would have taken it out on him for real, he looked at me and left the conversation.
