Its been moderated for a while now.. I just havent had reason to do so most of the time... but when people find offense with comments made by one member or another, and they report the post of a certain thread... I look into the situation, and if I feel it neccessary to take action I will.
If you have a problem with it, take it up with the owner and head honcho of the site, Skkorpion.
I try to be as fair as I can be.. within reason.. If I banned everyone that has had complaints about them.. well... this forum would be a whole lot less busy.... I still let alot of things go, and I try not to be too anal when monitoring certain threads, but there are times people go too far, push the envelope, and things get reigned back in.. hopefully.
This forum is pretty much anything goes, within reason, I prefer to keep it that way, when the name calling and racial slurs, or sexuality "choices" are hammered on, just like most peoples office enviroment, if you shouldnt say it at work, around your boss/co-workers, you probably shouldnt say it here. Obviously, some peoples job's allow plenty that would make a sailor blush, so in times like that, I prefer you use your best judgement, and if you need it, I am more than willing to edit out the less tastefull stuff!!
Considering the amount of "F you" private messages I get, I probably have the most complaints out of everyone. ...But I will have you know I don't whine to daddy when my feelings get hurt
One of the reasons the Politics board started at the old site was because Sir Steven said this: "democrat=liberal=communist." I replied "republican=conservative=facist." and **** hit the fan. Chebat had to start a board for the crazies.
I don't think they should have changed the name of Squaw Peak, it will always be Squaw Peak to me. I think they actually did the lady a diservice by making her death into a giant contraversy.
I mean she did give the ultimate sacrifice. And is the only Native American to ever do so. Is her life worth more than anyone elses? Of course not.
30 years, of Squaw Peak, it is going to be hard for me to realize what the real name is. I went there as a child on field trips.
As I said it was a disservice to her to tranish her bravery and sacrafice and as well as her name, by making a fiasco of it.
Like Audrey said is everything name Squaw going to be changed.
Then her name will become equivalent to a debatedly offense Indian word. Who wins?
