Yes - I'm Jewish - but hot damn if I can't bargain for the life of me. I also know NOTHING about selling cars but my car is cooked. The engine probably needs to be replaced as does the radiator but I'm trying to sell it anyway and can't figure out how much or better put HOW LITTLE i should expect in return.
It's a 1998 Ford Mustang GT - 100,000 miles - fully loaded - power everything/automatic/CD/leather interior.
Anyone know how much I should really be looking for an admitted lemon which needs a new engine and radiator? Any car nuts out there?

Cheesy, if you're going to get a different vehicle, why don't you trade it in. It's going to be pretty hard to sell a car that needs that kind of work done to it.
If you're not getting a different vehicle and just want to sell it, I think the Auto Trader magazine is available in CA. also. Put an ad in there.
It's a shame you didn't know a really good friend and business associate of mine from the midwest. Last name of Tischberg. He could charm the quarters right out of your pockets.

Just curious at what makes you think the engine needs to be replaced? Does it idle rough, is there colored smoke coming out of the exhaust?
When's the last time you changed the fuel filter, the cap and rotor, spark plugs, plug wires?
because the Dealership/other mechanics told me so. It's idling pretty rough and there's a pretty bad smell coming from it. Apparently the spark plugs were all shot to sh^t also. There's no way this sucker can be traded in - I'm hoping a mechanic is looking for a fixer-upper - already got an ad in the Auto Trader out here and the car's just collecting dust as we speak - has been for the last month.

Aren't there dealerships out there that always advertise "Push it, pull it, tow it, just get it here & we'll give you $____ for your trade." I think Mark Mitsubishi is one of em here in the valley. Maybe you could get something like where you live. Just a thought.

They wouldn't give him much at a dealership, or would only do the trade if he got into a much more expensive car with payments, etc. His best bet is to find a auto-nut/mechanic that wants a fixer-upper at a decent price, someone who sees the car for what it can be (with some work). A guy who knows how to do the work is going to save all of the labor cost.
Best of luck, cheesy!
P.S. Hey, Chap - do you need an inexpensive ride?
Just needs a little work.

that's EXACTLY what I'm looking for - I just don't know how much to ask.

Doesn't seem like you need the capital to buy the new car so I would put it in the auto trader and see what you can get. Or just keep it and head to the demolition derby on the weekends....

No idea man, but don't buy a ford again. Get a Celica GTS, and the engine is not gonna need to be replaced when you get to 100,000 miles. My old Celica had 189,000 miles when I bought a new car, and it was still running like crazy.

Cheesy, with 100000 miles on it, if you car was in good condition, it would be worth $3,500 to $4,000. If you figure it needs about $2,000 worth of work, the car should be worth $1,500 to $2,000. You should be able to get somewhere in that price range for it.

that's what I was thinking - I'm hoping to get 1500 - I really just want someone to take that thing off my hands.
