Saddam between rock and a hard place.

I was thinking that he is screwed no matter what (great observation, huh )

Here is what I thought about: The only chance Saddam really has of putting a dent in the forces against him is to use chemical weapons or weapons of mass destruction. This would prove to the world that we were in fact right, and any support Saddam might have had would be thrown out the window.

The other option is for Saddam to not use those weapons. He will not have lost support from some countries, but he would lose the war pretty quickly.

And lose all the power he has. Most likely be executed as a criminal of war if not suicide.

I expect this war to be longer than expected, as The President stated, I expect chemical weapons. And a U.S. victory. A war like this has not been fought in the History of the World. It could be painful for us but it is a necessary action.

If Saddam uses chemical weapons how do you think the rest of the world would react? The countries that were against us in the U.N.? The U.N.? Would they decide to join in on the fight, would they apologize? What would the rest of the world think of us, even our own citizens who are against this?

I would hope that they would realize that this action is justified and they would join. Absolutely.

The ones that didn't would be people that have obvious alterior motives.

Apologies would not come though. Kissing ass, would be more apporpriate.
