Rain

Man, the rain is coming down today...and I usually LOVE days like this, but I wanted to spread the rock I just got tonight, but I think the mud will be too much to deal with.

Unbelievable...been hot and nasty for 3 weeks now, suddenly I get my rock, and the sky opens up...

I have shoulder surgery a week from Monday, so I need to get this done...

I couldn't believe how cold it was this morning. I actually put a sweater on. It's a nice break from the norm.

I'm kind of in the same boat as you, Mike. I wanted to till my backyard tomorrow (changing up the landscaping back there) but there's no point if the ground is going to be muddy. At least the ground will be soft once it dries up a little.

Amazing how the timing works sometimes. The last time it rained for a couple days was right after my sidewalks were torn out. a week of mud and kids.

Yeah, the funny thing is, I was having to soak the side of my yard in order for the ground to be soft enough to smooth out for the paving stones I put down, and the dirt was still kind of hard to deal with.

After today, I wouldn't have needed to do that!

I loved last night after the dust storm came through...it really cooled off, and was just beautiful.

Yup...it's all irony.

I am putting the rock in, so my dogs don't track in mud when it rains, so I throw out all the bark we had in part of the yard, leaving NOTHING but dirt everywhere, and right when I am about to put the rock down, it rains, so now I have mud again everywhere, lol.

I LOVE the rain. Love it.

When I lived in the Philipines, we had a rainy season and a dry season. During the rainy season it rained like 8 hours a day for months. Being tropical, it was warm.

So, we'd walk down the streets barefoot. We'd take our horses to a waterfall and spend hours jumping off it.

I'd better stop or I'll start quoting Deng Ming-Dao...

Did your power go out? We didn't get it back on for about an hour after the dust storm hit.

No doubt about it, I absolutely LOVE the rain...days like this, I'm normally excited...it's just that I had plans.

Anyways, I still love it...the cool breezes...it's just awesome outside.

The lights flickered a few times last night, but no power outage.

I so miss Arizona rainstorms and lightning shows. The smell, the whole thing.

I might be coming out in May for a couple of days. Maybe it will rain then.

Mike, sorry about your best laid plans. Roll with it, and enjoy.

I guess my neighborhood was just special. I could see the development next to us all lit up. What can you do. The kids on our block loved it.

This rain is awesome.

I still say - if you use an umbrella in Arizona, you're a wuss.

Soak it in.

Hopefully you pulled over then

There is a huge cell right over Phoenix right now, pretty amazing.
