Q for ShaneH

If you were to see someone on a on ramp having a little bit of fun in a decent car (say like the one below! ) and you pulled them over. Would you give them a ticket or a warning?

There a lot of guys blabbing (a mustang forum) about how police officers pull them over just to check out their cars and personally I think they are full of it. Not all of them mind you...

Why would you "have a bit of fun" on an on ramp? Take her to a more private spot. But if I was a cop and saw that I would be more interested in checking out your two legged ride.

A "little fun" depends on what exactly you were doing and what kind of attitude you had when I stopped you.

I could care less about mustangs nor would I pull any car over more then another. Neither would my partners. A car is a car is a car. If they are doing something that warrants getting pulled over they will get pulled over regardless of car or color.

A "little fun" could be "wide open throttle, power shifting second and third, then backing off. So you would be pushing close to 70mph with a third of the on ramp left (give or take).

Your answer is pretty much what I expected. It is embarrassing to listen to these yahoo's. I admit I have fun from time to time in my car knowing full well I could get a ticket.

70 MPH on an on ramp? How long is the on ramp? What is the merge speed?

Most freeways are 65 MPH here in Vegas so I wouldnt say merging onto a freeway at 65-70 is to excessive. I hate when people try to merge at 30-45 MPH slowing everyone else down. So unless you were fishtailing or actually leaving rubber and smoke on the pavement I dont think I would pull you over.

However at $3.30 a gallon I would keep your foot off the throttle.

If your avatar was driving, I'd pull her over, and I'm not even a cop.
