Powerball

Ah the lottery, aka idiot tax. Well the Powerball should be up to $275M on Saturday.

The odds of winning the Powerball grand prize are 146,107,962 to 1.

The following odds were selected from www.funny2.com

Odds of dating a millionaire: 215 to 1
Odds of being on plane with a drunken pilot: 117 to 1
Odds of getting a hole in one: 5,000 to 1
Odds of dating a supermodel: 88,000 to 1
Odds of being struck by lightning: 576,000 to 1
Odds of winning an Olympic medal: 662,000 to 1
Odds of becoming a Saint: 20 million to 1
I think I'll put down $5. If I win, I am going to buy the Memphis Grizzlies. Donald wants to be the GM, but Erin doesnt like the idea at all.

I have a feeling that if I won the jackpot, the odds of me dating a supermodel would go up significantly.

I love the lottery. I'll throw down $5 and think of all the wonderful things I could do if I won.

Yeah, I know. Odds are I won't win anything, but it sure is fun thinking about it.

To clarify, she doesn't want to buy the team. Not that she doesn't want me to be GM.

Just to clarify, if you win you wont have enough money to buy the Grizzlies. If you take it in Annual installments you wont have enough capital on hand.

If you take lump sum you wont have near enough since it gets cut to like a 1/3 of the total amount. Even if you were given a check outright for 275 mill you would be pushing it especially after taxes ate you up.

If I won the Powerball, I'd pay to have this thread merged with Krang's classic thread: If I won the Powerball...

True. However you have more of a chance IMO if you have one set of numbers every week.

Are you telling me 10 million wouldnt be nice?

Heck, I spend about $3 per year on the lottery, but only when the jackpot gets big. It is a tax on people that can't do math, but if you throw a buck in now and again for giggles, no biggie.

About 15 years ago, I bought a "Pick" ticket (before powerball came to AZ) just at random. I hit 5-6 and won $1500. Anyone else here win any more in a state or powerball lottery? So far, I figure I am up about $1450.

As much dough as you win off of me you should be betting the lottery more often.
