If you enjoy shooters, and have a high-speed internet connection, I would strongly recommend "Battlefield 1942".
I've been playing it for a bit now, but this game kicks butt!
The learning curve is rather steep in online matches, but the effort is well worth it. The first time I hopped in a Spitfire fighter plane, assulted those Gerry bastards rom above, bailed out over their base, then got into a Tiger tank to continue to wreak havoc, I was hooked!
While it is World War II based, there is a mod available online that updates the game to modern warfare. Instead of Axis vs. Allies it's US vs. Iraq.
If anyone decides to get into it, let me know. I can offer up advice and point you towards the good servers (ie: zero tolerance for cheats and cracks).

That game rocks! I have that, played alot of "Desert Combat". I just bought the expansion pack, "Secret Weapons of WW II". Haven't had much time to experiment with that one yet.

This is not a very powerful computer by today's standards
I have a 600MHZ computer at home and it may as well be the dog's computer because you can't do anything with it. Hell I am already thinking about upgrading my 2.6 GHZ since my MOBO can go up to 3+
I just bought a new laptop that is 2.4 with 64 MB video card...cool to play games on the airplane

P3 450????
time to upgrade! Trade in about 100 of your DVD's you'll never watch for a new motherboard and processor

Already did--got a P4 2.66 VAIO a couple weeks ago with a DVD-burner , 120Gb Hard Drive, and 256k Memory. Need to upgrade the memory and video card, and maybe get a new hard drive for some video work.
