Mesa police are looking for a suspect who they say is impersonating an officer.
The suspect pulled a woman over on Sept. 4 near Main Street and Garfield Road.
He told her she was being investigated for a crime that had just occurred in the area.
The suspect asked the woman to step out of the car and then handcuffed her.
Sgt. Chuck Tripani of the Mesa Police Department said there was apparently some inappropriate touching.
The suspect is described as a man in his mid-30s and about 180 pounds.
He was wearing a dark-colored uniform with what appeared to be a badge.
He was driving an older-model Ford Crown Victoria with a large circle on the door and black bumpers. A light bar with white and red lights was mounted on the roof.
Anyone with information is asked to call Mesa police.

I.D. badges are long overdue. Security in this office park is a joke. Last year, I came to work with my spud gun in a duffel bag. I sat at my desk all day, with a rifle that shoots potatoes at 60 pounds per square inch. Can you imagine if I was deranged? - Dwight K. Schrute
