View Poll Results: To what do you set your heater?
We turned our air off last month. After paying electric bills from May through October, can't believe anyone would want it on this time of year. Throw on a sweatshirt and sweatpants if you're cold.

In the valley you might be on to something. In Reno when there is snow on the ground and icicles hanging off of your garage sweats just don't cut it.

No heat.....every once and a while we will put a box fan infront of our gas fireplace to take the chill off the room. The house usually sits in the 57-61 range throughout the day.
I refuse to turn on my heat this winter. It's time to stick to APS and make up for the high summer bills. I always love how they want you to switch to the monthly average plan (or what ever they call it) after you get done paying out your ass for the summer and are about to get some cheap winter rates. I'm always hot so I relish the winter months where I'm not sweating all of the time. It's nice actually having to use the covers. I sleep much better when it is cold.
I haven't turned on my heat yet and refuse to do so until my birthday month (Feb.).
That said, I kept my heat at 68 when I lived in Jersey and I keep it at 68 now that I live in AZ. I think 68 is a good temp, especially when you have warm blankets and someone to cuddle with.
I voted 66, but really it varies. Most of the time it is off, will turn it on in the morning to take the chill out of the air. Will have it on in the evening from time to time.
At $457.00/half tank of oil I can't afford to keep it over that temp.
Heating expenses are ridiculous.

72+, lately our nights have been below 0. We've got plastic over the windows and a blanket over our walk in closet (attic is in there and air moves in).

Worst thing about that plan is that if/when you switch companies because you move you HAVE to pay for your entire electric bill.
My wife and I were pretty upset with the added $300 cost to our last bill because of that. Something they didn't share with us when we signed up.
