New teaching job

Today I accepted a 7th grade Social Studies position at another school in the district I work in now. I can't wait. I hate science.

More pay?

P.S.

7th graders are some of the worst students behavior wise

Hey, Heavy. Science called. It hates you, too.

(BTW, science sounded a lot like Bill Nye)

Congrats. Social Studies was one of my favorite subjects in 7th & 8th grade. That's where I first studied about World War I & II and also about politics. Good luck.

I hated Social Studies then, I love my World History class now. The others are right about the behavior, but maybe you'll get lucky.

Congrats. I'm thinking about becoming a teacher. The pay isn't great I know but you can't beat the hours. 7ish to 2ish Monday-Friday with PLENTY of time off.

Good luck.

Maybe you'll have Nasser in your class. He could bring you Chipotle in place of an apple.

great hours if you are a crap teacher.................

try more like 6:30 - 7am as a start 3:45 - 5:00 as a finish, lost of extra work at night when you get home, the occasional saturday - and don't forget about activities, setting up your classroom, modifying your sub plans when you come down sick at the last minute

the weeks off and summers are great - but it's a very time consuming job - even in the summer off you have a lot of stuff that takes up your time - maybe 60% of that time off is actually free

Coolness!!!!

I just volunteered to chaperone a 6th, 7th, 8th grade trip to Disney. $40 gets me out there and into the park. Hope they take me since I have never been out there.

We need to have lunch and talk education in AZ.
