My brother's Alaska trip article published in the Republic

http://www.azcentral.com/travel/ariz...007out-cp.html

He wrote the article and took the pics. The picture of the guy with the fish is of a friend of ours that went with him.

You know what is funny Chris? I was just reading the P and R board and was thinking, "I wonder if Sanders read my brother's article yet."

Then I come over here and you were the only one to respond.

Yeah, he is one lucky little sucker. He just went on a similiar trip to Minnesota and through upper midwest SD, ND and Western MT. The Republic asked him to submit another article about it.

My wife and I took a trip to Alaska last summer. It was one of those things I always wanted to do. After surviving Cancer I was like "now is the time to do those things I always dreamed about."

We had the best time there. We stayed in this awesome B&B down in Homer and did everything(Fishing, Kayaking, Hiking). Here is a photo of the Halibut that we caught. Can't wait to go back!

Good thing you guys did stuff like that before baby! Those kind of trips can be done w/kids, but they are much more difficult and time consuming! Looks like you guys had a blast! Oh, and those are some big ol' fish!!!!!! (and no, BIM, that's not code for anything! )

That was the plan. Carmel got pregnant right after we got back.

The big halibut weighed 100lbs. One of the other guys caught that one. I caught the other two 40 pounders. Carmel caught two 25 pounders.

We ended up bringing home around 70lbs of halibut steaks and just finished our last pack a month ago.

Thats awesome MCD. Now I have one more person to be completely jealous of.

As you know I beat that **** too.

Me and my wife are always talking about it. We just need to buckle down and get it done. It will happen.

Yep.

I was going through my old private messages the other day and found yours. Thanks again for the encouragement it was helpful!

You guys have to go. It was a blast. We only used 25,000 FF miles per person on america west to fly there for free! We still ended up spending a ton of money but it was so worth it.

This was one of the best parts of the trip. On the way back from fishing this Humpback kept coming out of the water. We watched him for about 30 minutes.
