Man I LOVE Rocky Point....
Just got back yesterday from a week in Puerto Penasco... Can't get over the amount of contruction going on down there - kind of a bummer atually as it will only bring in more people. I like the 3rd worldish feel to Rocky Point.
A less than 4 hour drive to an amazing ocean paradise is just sooooo cool!! Here are some pix from the development we stay at (Las Palomas). I highly endorse this place and Rocky Point!!!

Anyone looking for a great condo in Rocky Point? My aunt and uncle have one that they rent out. 2 bed, 2 bath, great view of the beach, 5 pools, poolside bar, restaurant and supermarket to open up soon and more.  I got the info  |

do you need your passport to get there now? i know it was gonna take effect for land travel beginning in 2008 but i wasnt sure if it was delayed or is there a grace period.

There is a grace period (I can't recall what the exact date is however... Think it might be some time this summer). We crossed with just our licenses, but the Border Patrol agent did remind me that later this year we'll need our passports... |

My family used to do two Puerto Penasco trips every year one in NOV, one in late spring. I loved that town. Back when we started goign, we"d camp in a tent at Playa de Oro campground on the non-sandy beach side of town, next door to th Pitahaya Bar. One of my earliest hangovers was due to that bar. There were only dirt roads in town, no stop lights, a real fishermans town. I was on the RP website the other day and almost crapped my pants when I saw pictures of all the resorts. I have a feeling I wouldnt like ti as mch, but I really would like to return. Havent been since oh, 91 or so...
