I had this email forwarded to me, so I figured I'd pass it around, since I have no clue where some of you live...

They say there is only six degrees of separation so I am sending out this email to everyone I know.
My landscaper left my gate open Friday evening (3-31) and my dog is gone. We are heartbroken and miss her. She is a bichon/havanese mix. White and Black. 12 lbs. She escaped near 83rd Ave. and Pinnacle Peak in Peoria. Would you please forward this email to eveyone you know in the Valley to help me find her. There is a reward. Thanks!

Good luck to this person. Losing pets is hard. It's already been going on 4 days....I don't like the chances of a 12 lb dog in PHX. I don't know what 83rd and PP is like....but in my neigborhood it'd be a sitting duck for an Owl.
On a side note....if anybody ever got a Lost Dog....would you go after the reward??
Not trying to sound like a goody-two-shoes, but my reward would be in seeing the joy of the family getting their pet back. I would never take a monetary reward.

That's what I'm saying. I mean, who is really motivated to start looking for a dog because of a reward....Ace Ventura??
This morning I saw a lost dog sign on the way to work, it was for a black lab. My heart just sunk because we have two yellow labs and we would be crushed if they got lost. Hopefully a neighbor took it in temporarily and will see the signs.

I'm afraid the world is not entirely populated by the likes of you & me. Also, if somone found the dog, and was going to keep it, but then saw there was a reward, they might be more likely to keep it. At least, that's what I've always figured the point of the reward was--to keep it from being kept or sold (if it was a high-dollar breed).
I would have a hard time accepting a reward if I found the dog. I would take satisfaction in knowing the dog was back to it's loving owners.
I hope they find the poor thing.

I can't stand little dogs....so maybe I'd have to accept a reward for having to put up with all that yapping.
Last time I took my dog to the vet....I was shocked....it was all the little dogs that were making all the noise. They'd walk right up to him and start barking in his face...and he'd look up at me like, "what the hell am I supposed to do with this??"
yep .. big dogs don't need to bark - they just have to bite
sucks about the lost dog though - couldn't imagine having a pet on it's own out here - i grew up in the country, so it was common that we just let our animals roam - out here we have to keep everything locked up
I live/work not all too far from this sweet puppy's home. I'll print off the pic and info and take it to work and I'll fwd it to some people that I know live really close to there. Poor little doggy!!!

Thank you very much! I got the email from NSD, so it's probably a co-worker of hers. I'm sure she will appreciate it!

Absolutely. Anyone who has a pet knows how badly they'd feel if their pet got lost.

I took a monetary reward once. Was in college, broke and my boyfriend and I took care of this poor little puppy for almost a week even though we called the local pounds to let them know we had the dog. (We weren't about to actually leave him at the pound and let him be put down.) Had to buy food and a leash (something poor college kids can't afford). Apparently the little guy had gotten pretty far from home. In any case, the people came to pick him up, offered a reward and we took it. I never would have asked for a reward, but since they offered, hey, why not?

Those are different circumstances than anything I've ever experienced, and yes, I would have taken the reward, too.
