knives and fingers
i got a few very nice knives for xmas this year. really nice quality, and, really sharp.
so sharp, in fact, that i just sliced my finger wide open. "honey, i've decorated the kitchen red for you in honor f valentine's day."
"oh, how sweet. are those rose pedals on the floor?"
"no, that's my blood."
thump [that's the sound of me passing out from blood loss]
can you get salmonela from getting cut with a knife you're using for cutting the chicken?

You can get something bad. I'm very proud of your man-ability to share this with the board while bleeding profusely. Good job!

yeah...I'd make sure you washed it out real good & maybe pour some peroxide on it or something. Not a fan of stitches--it'll heal eventually. Sliced my hand open on a stupid lid for cat food on Christmas once...even my dad said I should get stitches...I decided that stitches were for sissies. But you definitely need to make sure it's really really clean.

One time at band camp...
Sorry, had to say that. Anywho, I was working in a picture frame shop and I was given the task to take an old frame apart (had some really fancy molding w/ gold leaf). The staples you use are a small sheet like metal bent in a 90 degree angle that is sharp on one end. You use a staple press to push the staple into the molding. I had taken the two pieces apart but some of the staples were still in the wood.
So was using a tool that look similar to a screw driver to wedge in between the wood and staple (I'm pretty sure everyone by now knows were this is going). So I slice the top of my index finger open and cut the small artery. Went to the sink to wash it off. A co-work took a look at it as he pulled the towel away the sucker shot about 2 feet and almost got (better aim on my part next time).
I really thought I was going to get nauseous but I was fine went to the doctor and they had to perform surgery because I cut a tendon as well.

My brother works in a bar and had a glass break in his hand the other week. He had a pretty bad cut right where his ring finger met his hand. He just had surgery on Monday to repair the tendon and nerves he cut through.
Yuk.

Yeah, the time before with the same finger I was playing volley ball and a guy in my platoon decide to spike my finger instead of the ball! Nice little compound facture. Had to walk to the battalion aid station to watch all the Corpsmen freak out because they had a really issue on their hands.
As they had me sitting there in a closed room with 6 other people I had to inform the chief I was getting light-headed. So the idiot puts me in a 'full nelson' and tells me to push my neck back. Well it worked because I got my mind off my finger bent in the wrong direction with the bone sticking out... Shortly after I got a shot of demeral (sp??). Now that was a nice little trip!!1

Quit being a baby and rub some dirt on it.
If that don't work, tape an aspirin to it.
