Jury Duty question....

What is appropriate attire for a prospective juror? I have to report on Tuesday and I'm not really sure what's acceptable

Thanks

Jean shorts and a cardinals jersey should work

I might have to serve on June 29th, but IIRC from the summons attire is supposed to be "business casual".

I don't think they'd throw you out if you were wearing a Cardinals jersey though.

I would imagine a nice pair of khacki's and a polo would be fine.

If you wanted, do a dress shirt without the tie. OR with.

All 3 are acceptable.

I am in the minority but I really like serving on a Jury... Reporting for JD is sometimes rough when I don't get on a case, but other than that, I really do like it...

And Biz Casual for me... Shirt with a collar and a pair of slacks, dress shoes... (I hate the word "slacks")

I wish I could find that shirt from the Larry Flint movie that said "I wish I was black". That's like a free pass to never get called on a jury. I have a shirt (that doesn't fit any more :fat: ) that says "Screw Allah"

I wore it all the time after 9/11 because I was a bandwagoner like that. One day this white hippy guy working at AM/PM nearly jumped over the counter to kill me at that point I decided to retire it to the back of the closet. Now that is a quality jury duty excuse

Another, um, hypothetical question:

What happens if someone doesn't read the the part at the top of the summons where it says to detach the questionnaire below and return immediately?

Nothing, you still have to call and see if you have to show up. No notification means you will appear as requested

I didn't know there was a dress code for jury duty. I got a summons a long time ago for the grand jury and I showed up in my jeans and goofy work shirt that had a "Coors" patch on one side and "Renz" on the other. I still got picked.
