Wow, a couple weeks after I turned 18 I got a court summons for jury duty (that was fast) in november in phx.

Since im a student in tucson, they are letting me go for duty on Jan 5.

should be a blast.

hahaha have fun, Ravi!

Last Fall I got a summons, and I called and told them I was out of the state. They rescheduled me for during X-Mas Break. Well, through the business of finals and flying home, I FORGOT to go the day I was supposed to. I freaked out, called the place, prayed they wouldnt convict me of a felony. Thankfully, my group had been dismissed anyway, so all was well.

Ah yeah good times.

This is why I haven't re-registered to vote since I last moved. I hate jury duty....

(I haven't been called in 9 years)

I've gotten summoned twice but my group never actually had to go. I really wanted to convict someone.

I have never once been summoned for jury duty. If I ever do I'm going to introduce myself as Assface and demand that they refer to me as that.

I just filled out my questionairre to start after Jan. 1, 2006. I have a three month window I have to sweat out.

Last time I was summoned, I was one of 200 to fill out questions for a murder case. An undercover cop went crazy and killed a couple cops and got in a gun battle with more before being captured. I wasn't called to be dismissed, which they told me meant I was selected. The case was supposed to go for over a year. I didn't want to be on it. I called back again and was told they made a mistake and I wasn't chosen. I was so happy! I don't mind serving, just not on a murder case that was so high profile in the community.

I still have a gut feeling Shaq will be better next season (2008/2009) after our docs have a full off season to work their magic on the Big Saguaro!

They go by MVD records now not voter registration--if you have a drivers license or state ID you are in the "lottery" so to speak for jury duty. At least in AZ they do, where you live may be different.

I've been summoned twice in the past 11 years, once in Maricopa county and once in Cochise county. I was selected in Cochise county (civil case) but they settled right before the trial began.
