It looks similar to a symbol called a Rose Cross:

I really don't know too much about what this symbol means, so I did a quick Google search, and it looks to have some kind of pagan significance. Just type Rose Cross in google, and you'll see the links.

Personally, I think the tattoo looks really cool, and since it has personal significance, it makes it all the more powerful.

Sorry to hear about your mom.

the Rose Cross is not pagan.

It is a symbol of the holy feminine which the Priory of Sion has claimed that the Catholic church has repressed thorughout history.

Gee's cross is not a Rose Cross.

That tat is great, Chad.

Pagan religions worship the holy feminine. More specifically, they worship nature, and generally have both gods and goddesses to worship.

Gee's cross is similar to a Rose Cross (which is what I originally stated):

As you can see, each end of the cross has three "bumps", like Gee's, and there is a four-part shape behind the part where the cross, well, crosses.

The differences are the shape of the 'bumps' on the end, as well as the detail of the shapes behind the cross.

Now, I could be wrong, but the symbols look similar. If it is not a Rose Cross, or at least not based on a Rose Cross, what is it?

yeah it does look like the rose cross, i guess.

i just don't think that his cross has any meaning other than he loved his other, misses his mother and wantsto remember her in a spiritual way.

one of the things unique about the rose cross is the 4 mid points NE,NW,SW and SE.

Good point. I really didn't know too much about the Rose Cross, and I never realized that those things were supposed to be compass points.

It does resemble the other cross as well. Of course, since this tattoo is designed to honor Gee's Sacred Feminine, perhaps that's why I thought of the Rose Cross first. Perhaps we'll call it a Gee Cross?

Gee, once again, great tattoo.
