Are you allowed to move debris that is between your ball and the cup when you are putting? My father in law always moves leaves and crap on the green when he gets ready to put, drive me nuts! I want to get my story straight for when I play him on Sunday, I think it is against the rules.....
Anyone know?

Yes you can remove debris between your ball and the hole. And actually the rule was just changed this year allowing you to use anything to sweep dirt/leaves/rocks out of the way when your ball is on the green or the fringe. You used to be only able to use foreign objects to remove debris if you were off the green. So your father is acting prefectly within the rules of golf....sorry man
