Thanks guys! It'll be interesting to see how the little one travels 5.5 hours. I'm going to hate listening to Barney & Blue's Clues the whole way there.

Got the worst sunburn of my life on the beach in San Diego. Burnt my scalp. Here's a tip - if you get sunburned on your scalp don't brush your hair. Just leave it messy. Trust me on that one.
While you are there, definitely check out a burrito shop in *EDIT* I think it was Mission beach named "Taco Surf". Best carne asada burrito ever.

While you are there, definitely check out a burrito shop in Coronado named "Taco Surf". Best carne asada burrito ever.
Also, old town San Diego has some great mexican food. Gas Lamp district is fun at night.
Stealing from the "haunted" thread, there is a place across from a good mexican food place in old town that is supposedly recognized by the national register of historic places as haunted.
Taco Surf is in Pacific Beach, but I agree it's unbelievable. I've been staying about 1/2 a block away from it. The weather is great, I'm less than a five minute walk from the beach, the Garnet bars, etc. Trust me, I'm not looking forward to coming home on Sunday to that 110 degree BS.

Back in college one night I was enjoying a pollo asado burrito at Nicos in Tucson. One of the guys there with me was from San Diego. So on the wall they have this framed newspaper article from a San Diego newspaper, which has a listing of the "best burrito shops" in San Diego. It said on it that there were 7 or 8 Nico's locations in San Diego, or something to that effect.
So we are sitting there talking about it at like 2 am after drinking all night on 4th Ave, and it hit us - we were going to go to San Diego during spring break for the "San Diego Burrito Tour".
So 8 of us went to San Diego for 5 days and ate burritos for almost every meal. Most of us agree that Taco Surf had the best carne asada, its on Mission Blvd I am pretty sure.
