Do Penguins have Knees?
And more importantly, Who's Returning Punts and Kickoffs next year?

1. Yes. It doesn't look like they have much in the way of legs, but their knees are hidden under their feathers. Most people think that the knees on birds are "backwards." What you are actually seeing is a structure analagous to the human ankle.
Here's a basic diagram

One way taht you can tell a baby pigeon is it is alot more colorful than the adult or even "teenager" pigeon. Howevr, this color is very temporary. Within a few days, they actually turn a very dark color. When they start molting soon after is when they start to turn lighter.

Well that raises another interesting question...
Why don't people get goose-bumps on their faces?

My poor dear un-educated Section 11, as everyone knows, shivering is a result of activation of the erector pili muscles. These muscles are not found in the face, consequently, you do not see "goosebumps" whihc is the fancy name the pilomotor reflex. This is when the erector pili muscles pull on your hairs and make them stand up very straight. This traps warm air betwene the
hairs and keeps you warmer.
You should get out more often and experience the world!

Well, by that logic, you could certainly justify that No. 2 pencils, based on their popularity, really should be No. 1. Of course I'm kidding.
The real question is: Why call them "Apartments" if they're all stuck together?

well, the logic would go that the building contains compartments. however, as a social, yet prone-to-reclusivity, creature, humans require some separation from one and other now and again resulting in the necessity for the living compartments to be segregated from one and other, or, in layman's terms, they facilitate humans' need to be apart from one and other. thus the compartments are apart from one and other, hence, apart-ments.

That is so funny that you had asked that, because I just explained this to my 3 year old daughter on Tuesday. The word actuaaly is a hybrid word coming from France via Italy via the now-defunct Latiin Language. The French appartement , hails from the Italian appartamento .
In my 3rd year of Latin @ Dobson High School (Thank you Mr. McElligott for being so wise in the ways of Latin-ia) were learned the word appartare , which means "to separate, from a parte, apart" {(from Latin ad-) + parte, side (from Latin pars, part)}. So in reality, the origin means that even though they are together, they are in fact "apart ".
