I figured since Philly's new house thread was getting hijacked, and no one wants to rain on someone's new house parade, I'd start a thread for all things divorce related...woo hoo! Let the fun begin..

Mine was finished about 6 months ago. I didn't want it to be messy, so I walked away from everything. I only took my car, guitar, laptop, Cardinal tickets, and dog. I figured by doing this, if she wanted to fight she'd have to give something back. Thank God no kids were involved.
Hands-down the best thing I did for everyone involved. Sometimes you don't realize how bad of a situation you are in until you can look at it from an outside view. We are both much happier now.

Married at age 21 1/2, seperated at 23, divorced shortly thereafter, which come to think of it was about 7 years ago this month.
We had nothing, being so young and all. I had just finished college and all I moved out with was my clothes, some silverware my grandma had given us as a wedding gift and my $1200 bi-monthly check from work. Man my apartment was depressing those first six months. I mark that day, July 16, 1999 (the day before D-Dogg's wedding) as the absolute low point of my life. It's been all uphill since then.
But the next day you had to walk with her in our wedding. Just odd.
OK, so maybe worst.day.ever spanned 48 hours. Either that or your wedding/getting married trumped the pain enough to make it better than the day before. Plus JFK Jr died that day, so there is that.
