Digital Cameras

I'm looking to buy a digital camera, probably 4 megapixels with a decent zoom and good speed. Does anyone have/know of any good cameras they could suggest? My gf had the Nikon Coolpix 4300, which was nice, but I need something that can shoot a little faster (not 10 seconds between pictures).

we just bought a real nice Sony for that price.

My wife did alot of research & the Sure Shot (?) was the best bang for the buck for our needs. - Small, fast picture taking, reasonable zoom, etc.

it also takes pics pretty quickly - one right after another

I have that camera!

Most of the cameras I've played with shoot about the same, a big difference is in battery power and the memory card. If you use Compact Flash, their "Ultra II" cards are supposed to be much faster. Sony's Memory Stick Pro does the same thing.

Alan, I bought a Olympus C-750UZ digital camera last year which has a 40X zoom lens and multi settings for taking pictures automatically in any type of lighting or time of day. It's very small, but takes magnificent pictures and is not overly expensive. I think that this year's model is the C-765UZ.

I recently bought a Kodak DX6490, 10x zoom, 4 mega pixel. I am very happy with it so far, cost about three fifty.

We use Kodak EasyShares at our school. They are simple to use and seem to be able to take a beating.
