Computer problems

An older couple asked me to look at their computer. I just took a look at it, and it gives the following message:

"The windows registry or SYSTEM.INI file refers to this device file, but the devise file no longer exists.

If you deleated this file on purpose try uninstalling the assosiated application using its uninstall or set up program.

If you still want to use the application assosiated with this device file, try reinstalling that application to replace the missing file."

Does anybody know what the heck that means?
I think the Einstains deleated the windows, and I have no idea what to do now.

Please let me know if you can help and tell me what to do.

Thank you

Stefan

The system.ini file tells the OS what to load when it boots up. I am assuming this is windows 98 because all the newer operating systems will correct the system.ini when the computer loads. Open the system.ini and look for any applications or hardware that are no longer being used by the system and type REM infront of the corresponding entry.

Hit the computer four times with a sledge hammer. That'll fix it. That'll fix it good.
