I think it's pretty naive to think we are the only living beings in a galaxy that has an unfathomable area

Yeah, but that's different from believing in UFOs.

My beliefs on the subject:
Extra-terrestiral life? Yes.
Aliens and UFOs among us? Probably not.

For me it's a logic thing these beings are advanced enough to master interstellar space travel but all they do when they get here is mutilate cows and make crop circles? Unless all our visits are from college age aliens on fraternity prank runs it doesn't make much sense?

I think there's life somewhere else but I think UFO's are pretty unlikely if they have that level of technology they'd contact us.

Assuming they observe the daily bloodshed and despair we inflict on each other at the global Earth level, if they are smart they'd keep their distance from us humans.

That's pretty much the way I feel about it.

I'd guess that pretty much any society that had similar evolution to us would go through something similar though?

To me it's inevitable but maybe that's just my human bias, things I attribute as being natural may only be natural to us?

Who knows what another planet's lifeform's behavior would be? But if those who claim to have been abducted are to be believed, the aliens are probably as devious and dastardly as we are (considering all the poking, proding and experimenting they do to the abductors).

They sure do love the rednecks though. They probably worship Jeff Foxworthy or something.

Yeah that's what I meant. Here pretty much all life we know of behaves similarly, the more crowded it gets, the more violent it becomes.

I would guess that's a universal thing but maybe not. I read a lot of sci fi as a kid and this concept of higher intelligence that moves beyond violence etc is pretty common. There's only 2 extremes, either they're totally non violent, or they want to kill and eat us.

Except for ants. They seem to do better in crowds.
