Anybody on this board "Bic" their head?

I use the Mach 3 but its not getting as close as I want it to. I want this baby to tan skin, not tan skin with a ring of stubble. I need some tips on how to get this closer down.

Have you tried going both ways?

I've never BIC'd my head but if I want to keep a 5 O'clock shadow away longer on my face I will save with the grain and then against the grain. It's smooth as a baby's behind and usually lasts a day or so

nair is hard on stubble stronger fuzz. I'm pro to the type of shaving gels I use.The NaOH content isn't strong enough
.
i can use anything, prefer the Mach. Then go back against the grain. Be particular on what you use after bicin.Change blades every two shaves.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Gosh that makes me gringe just thinking about it! BURNING SKIN ! ouchie!

My husband shaves his head with a Gillette Mach3. Never gets as close as I'd like it. (Like you were describing). We've tried different shaving creams too. Even "Coochie Cream" (Seriously, I'm not being nasty, that's the brand name) supposed to give a closer shave but it didn't work either. Does help with ingrown hairs though. Hubby has very curly hair. Wonder if that's why? Wasn't your hair curly prior to shaving it??? Could be the culprit.

Buy your mach 3's on ebay. You will be shocked at how cheap you can get them. Now where they come from, that is certainly up for debate...

Thats why I cannot buy personal items like this on ebay. Because if they are stolen or hot the person selling them probably has no moral problem with tampering with the product either....

I bic'd my head on the side once to see what it would be like and I could not get the full effect too.

Would love to hear if it worked or what you did.... Just in case I decide to loose a little more hair....

Well, I asked my buddy who does and he told me what to do to get extra close.

1. Mach 3 with shaving gel or shaving oil. Hair conditioner works as well (the irony)

2. Go with first then against the grain

3. go over the whole head after with an electric shaver.

I tried this last night and I couldnt believe how much hair/dark circle was removed by the electric shaver! It did cause some irratation, probably cause Im not used to it but it did take all the hair away.

No need

to use the electri. Go both ways, that's the ticket. Try Aveeno and Nivea gels.
Yes change blades frequently as you are probably shaving your face at the same time. That's 4 shaves/blade.
Both ways=with and against the grain.

My head has been clean shaven for about 5 years now... First let me tell you I think Shaving Cream / Gel is a scam... Men's cans/bottles whatever cost nearly 5 bucks and do not last very long... I use the Mach 3 the M3 Power one... The vibrating thing does not help in really getting a closer shave except for it does keep the hairs out of the blades... which tend to make them last longer...

I shave my head in the shower daily and I use Cheap Hair Conditioner, Suave or whatever, slicker than shaving cream, better for you skin and gives a closer shave at about a buck a bottle and lasts me nearly 4 months shaving at least once a day... The expensive hair conditioner does not work as well, Finesse and the others just are not as slick as the cheapies...

I have done it this way now for a long long time and every one that i have told about it even uses the same for regular shaving... It works fine out of the shower as well you just have to really wash up with warm water first... Also my wife now uses the same techniques for shaving...

As Far as direction goes I do 4 passes, one from front to back, all over.... the second from back to front, again all over, and then both ways kind f like invisible comb overs... LOL

At any rate I was talking to a potential client who also shaves his head and he asked me how I got it so close... Told him the samething I posted here and he said he was kind of afraid to ask because he thought I might answer "Chemo"....

I have a 300 dollar digital Electric (father's day gift) and I still have yet to find one that will come even fairly close... I use mine in a pinch typically when I am mobile but only for touch ups... They are desingned for minimal use, not full on head and face shaving daily...

4 shaves a blade can be done but I typically change after 3 (with as you guys know using Mach Products) can get expensive...

Wow, I didnt know that the blades had to be changed so much, I was doing 10-12 shaves per blade. I agree with the conditioner, it works very well.
