That's what RPGs are for, same as the U.S. LAW rocket ([b]L]/b]ight Anti Tank weapon).
The glacis plate in the front of most U.S. tanks is thick enough to stop an RPG; the Iraqis probably hit them from the rear, where the armor is not as thick.
