Unlimited Ride Wristband Days presented by Power 98.3
$25 - Tue. Oct. 14, Thurs. Oct. 16, Tue. Oct. 21, Thurs. Oct. 23, Tue. Oct. 28, Thurs. Oct. 30
$30 - Sun. Nov. 2
Wristbands will be sold at Fairground Midway Ticket Booths until 9:00pm, and honored for use on the Midway until 11:00pm on each wristband day. Wristbands must be attached and are non-transferable. Fair admission is required and not included in the wristband prices above. Wristbands are deactivated upon exiting the Fairgrounds.
$1 Ride Wednesdays
Rides are just $1 on Wednesdays Oct. 15, 22, and 29. Purchase your $1 ride cards at Midway Ticket Booths until 7 pm, honored until closing. Extreme rides, Gravity Storm and rock walls are not included.
-------------------------------------
RCS Fun Pass
All ride e-tickets will go on one pass.
*$20 Fun Pass = 40 ride e-tickets
*$50 Fun Pass = 100 ride e-tickets
*$100 Fun Pass - 200 ride e-tickets
A note about "e-tickets":
We are using a new bar code system for rides this year, instead of the traditional hard tickets of years past. "E-tickets" work just like the previous system, except they are placed onto one credit card-sized, bar-coded card, and scanned each time you ride a ride.
As an example, if you purchase a $20 Fun Pass online, which equals 40 ride e-tickets, you will print your purchase at the end of the e-commerce process, and bring that to a Fair Midway Ticket Booth. At the booth, they will give you a credit card-sized, bar coded card "loaded" with 40 e-tickets. Then, you take this card to the rides or games you wish to use. Each ride or game requires a certain number of "tickets". The operators will scan your card at the ride or game. The required ticket amount will be deducted from your e-ticket card balance. So if you had 40 e-tickets on your card, and you chose to ride a 6-ticket ride, your remaining balance would be 34.

Whatever.
I've gone every year for more than 25 years and never had any problems. A couple years back there were a lot of Gang/Task Force officers making themselves very visible, but there weren't any problems.
This'll be the 16th consecutive year that my wife and I are going to the fair together.
If you don't care for it - don't go.
We're going all day tomorrow, seeing the shows, sights, animals, exhibits (including 4 pictures my wife will have on display), eating fry bread with some folks we have known since they had a store in Fiesta Mall, etc. It'll be a blast.

I went to the Arizona State Fair, and all I got was a case of Valley Fever.

Went to the fair yesterday with my class for Special Kids Day. It was awesome. I think I might have had more fun than my students! We petted and fed animals, rode rides, had lunch and planted radish seeds.
Thanks to the state for doing this for the kids with special needs! It was a great learning experience and a fun time!!!

I love the fair. Reminds me of my grandpop's farm (minus the city and crowd aspect).

I think its Fair to say that it sucks.
It reminds me of rush hour on foot.
I think its also Fair to say that youth crime in the Phx area is probably down annually during the month of October between the hours of 7 and 10PM.
I used to go exclusively for the live acts in the coliseum.
If my woman wants to go i'll take her,win her a stuffed animal, take her on the biggest ride, feed her & make the best of it....otherwise no thanks. There are other smaller fairs in the East valley that are a decent time for less $ and less hassle.

My girlfriend and I will be taking my nephews (ages 4 and 3) on Wednesday when it opens. We figured it would be a bad idea to take them at night especially during the weekend. Plus Wednesday is half off admission for students and $1.00 rides.
For those who went already... Will there be much to do for kids of that age? It should be a blast to watch my nephews experience the fair. Good times.

The can milk a fake cow, plant radish seeds, ride a fake bull and go through a very small hay maze.
Oh, and you can spend a bunch of money on games and goodies.
They should have fun!
