Just got back today. Decided to stay an extra night.
We got to the camp at 12:00pm on Sat. and started setting up the 6-man tent. We could not find the instructions and the wind kicked upto 30mph. It took us 1.5 hours to set up the tent. I was ready to kill someone.
Anyway, the wind was horrible all day Saturday, and we never left camp. 5 minutes after we went to bed it started pouring. It poured til 3:00am.
We woke up to mud, wet wood and more wind and soon had muddy dogs and kid to deal with as well.
After that it warmed up a bit and was nice off and on. I caught a 5 lb Catfish and a Largemouth bass at Lake Mary, both unexpected since I thought there were only Trout and Pike in that lake.
Anyway. The kid decides to play with the stringer and lets the fish go, stringer and all.
I was ready to kill him.
The next morning we woke and I felt too lazy to tear down camp so we decided to stay another night. I caught another Catfish, and we feasted last night.
Overall it was a good trip... The dogs were actually good in the truck, I was surprised. I still have today and tomorrow off so that is a bonus, a vacation from my vacation.

Yeah, I don't like it either, but when you have women with you, bathrooms are a must, lol.
If I was on my own, it would be off the beaten path, where we find the campsite ourself, dig a hole for the campfire, put a ring of rocks around it, etc.
We didn't fish, but did see the lake and have a nice hike down the spillway for about 3 miles.
Also saw 5 Elk, they must be used to people, I got within 80 feet of them at one point, maybe closer. I got some good pictures, will have to pass them on.

That was one that I was disapointed in, we saw no Elk or deer.
The only animal we saw was a 5 foot tall stork or crane or something, standing in the middle of the Highway. We almost hit the thing...
Look forward to the pics..
