Source: The Hollywood Reporter
January 6, 2006

John Travolta and Tim Allen are in talks to star in Wild Hogs, a comedy for Touchstone Pictures being produced by Tollin/Robbins Productions. The Hollywood Reporter says Walt Becker is directing from a script by Brad Copeland.

The film revolves around a group of four frustrated middle-aged biker wannabes who hit the open road in search of adventure only to encounter a real Hell's Angels group.

Travolta and Allen will play two of the four suburban men.

This could be really funny.

Hells Angels sue Disney over movie plans
March 10, 2006

Hells Angels has sued Walt Disney Co., claiming that a planned movie about a group of motorcycle riders called "Wild Hogs" infringes on its trademark name and skull logo.

A Disney spokesman said the suit was without merit.

"Wild Hogs," which has not yet begun filming, is a story about "a group of middle-aged wannabe bikers look(ing) for adventure out on the open road, where they encounter a chapter of the Hells Angels," according to the tag line on Internet Movie Database (www.imdb.com).

In the lawsuit filed in the U.S. District Court of California on Wednesday, the Hells Angels Motorcycle Corp. said the characters in the movie are identified as members of the club and wear trademark logos, although in the suit the club said Disney had not given it a copy of the script.

The Hells Angels Motorcycle Corporation was formed in 1948 in California's San Bernardino area and describes itself as a group of motorcycle enthusiasts.

Law enforcement officials have frequently linked the group to drug trafficking, racketeering and other criminal activities, but it was also recently paid $990,000 by the Santa Clara County for a botched raid of the club's property in 1998.

Wild Hogs

Release Date: March 2, 2007
Studio: Touchstone Pictures
Director: Walt Becker
Screenwriter: Brad Copeland
Genre: Comedy
MPAA Rating: PG-13 (for crude and sexual content, and some violence)
Website: Wild Hogs | YouTube.com/WildHogsmovie

Starring: Tim Allen, John Travolta, Martin Lawrence, William H. Macy, Marisa Tomei, Jill Hennessy, Ray Liotta

Plot Summary: Tim Allen, John Travolta, Martin Lawrence and William H. Macy hit the road in this rollicking comedy-adventure about a group of middle-aged friends who decide to rev up their routine suburban lives with a freewheeling motorcycle trip. Taking a long dreamed-of breather from their stressful jobs and family responsibilities, they can't wait to feel the freedom of the open road.

When this mis-matched foursome, who have grown far more used to the couch than the saddle, set out for this once-in-a-lifetime experience - they encounter a world that holds far more than they ever bargained for. The trip begins to challenge their wits and their luck, especially during a chance run-in with the Del Fuegos, a real-life biker gang who are less than amused with their novice approach.

As they go looking for adventure, they soon find that they've embarked on a journey they will never forget.

Just saw this with my wife. I thought it quite funny - although corny. But good entertainment if you are not looking for serious material. And my word, does Marissa Tomei even age? She looked great - as always.

We went to see this last night. It was actually really funny. John C. McGinley was hilarious (I still always see him as Bob from Office Space).

Spoiler:
The Peter Fonda cameo at the end was perfect.

Really a fun movie....

The critics killed it, proving that they just don't get it. Everyone in the audience was laughing out loud (including me and my wife).

No.... It's not Oscar material, but who cares. Does every movie have to be "Oscar material" to be good? Methinks not. This was just good ol', warm, corny fun.
