That new one with Martin Lawrence looks like a real winner.
Sorry, I couldn't help myself.

Haven't seen this yet. Would you say it is the best ever because it was just a good movie, or is it because they portrayed the comic faithfully on the big screen?
So far, I've been disappointed by the casting for Bruce Wayne/Batman in the previous movies. Seems like they just cast people with good chins to fit into the suit, but forget that they have to actually act when they play Bruce Wayne. In the previews, Christian Bale looks like he might have a chance to pull it off, but I'll wait to pass judgment until I've seen it.

My husband is the BIGGEST die-hard Batman fan that ever was. Claims he IS Batman. Anyway, he couldn't stand the non-Tim Burton Batman movies, and felt that the weak acting was more because of the directing as opposed to the actors' abilities. I mean, Val Kilmer is a good actor (George Clooney I understand is debatable, but I happen to love him). Anyway, he LOVED Batman Begins, and was really happy w/Christian Bale. I found him to be a very convincing Bruce Wayne, but wasn't that happy (at first) with him in the Batsuit. He was VERY angry and gruff, which isn't Batman's 'style', but then the more I thought about it, in the original Batman movies, he already had his reputation established, and so he didn't need to be so intimidating with his voice. In this movie, nobody knows who he is, so he HAD to be more...heated...so to speak. I loved the story (tied up every loose end imaginable) and special effects--overall thought it was great. Can't wait to take the kids!
