Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story

Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story

Release Date: December 21, 2007
Studio: Columbia Pictures (Sony)
Director: Jake Kasdan
Screenwriter: Judd Apatow, Jake Kasdan
Genre: Comedy
MPAA Rating: R (for sexual content, graphic nudity, drug use and language)
Website: Walk Hard

Starring: John C. Reilly, Jenna Fischer, Tim Meadows, Kristen Wiig

Plot Summary: In Columbia Pictures' new comedy "Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story," co-written and produced by Judd Apatow ("Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby"; "Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy") and co-written, produced, and directed by Jake Kasdan, John C. Reilly stars as the larger-than-life musician and songwriter Dewey Cox.

America loves Cox! But behind the music is the up-and-down-and-up-again story of a musician whose songs would change a nation. On his rock 'n roll spiral, Cox sleeps with 411 women, marries three times, has 22 kids and 14 stepkids, stars in his own 70s TV show, collects friends ranging from Elvis to the Beatles to a chimp, and gets addicted to -- and then kicks -- every drug known to man... but despite it all, Cox grows into a national icon and eventually earns the love of a good woman -- longtime backup singer Darlene (Jenna Fischer).

Can't wait to see this.

Mr. Cellophane is a very good comedic actor.

Just rented this.

It's going to be like Blades of Glory/Anchorman for me. Okay on the 1st watch. But gets better when you think about it and then you have to watch it again and again.

The collection of comedic talent is amazing. It's like NBC let loose their funny staff to star in the show.

And wow to Jenna Fischer. The Office does a great job of covering up how sexy she really is. In both this and Blades of Glory she spent good screen time in neglige and wow.

Reilly reminded me a lot of Will Ferrell in this, almost like Ferrell should've been Cox but was too busy. Reilly though was great.

Good tunes.

This definitely a Ray/Walk the Line spoof.

3.75/5

I loved this move. Ten minute into the movie, my wife walked out of the room and refused to watch anymore. Nuf sed.

As there were no laughs from the wife and I in the first 20 minutes, we turned it off. It was so unfunny, it was depressing.

How is cutting a kid in half with a machete funny?

I thought the movie was very funny.

Not great, but a decent flick.

Mulli if you turned it off after 20 minutes you didn't even get to the funny stuff. Its a slow starter but actually turned out to be pretty good.

I am starting to think that. But the machete thing was pretty low.
