Go tell the Spartans, stranger passing by,
that here obedient to their laws we lie.
The Greek disdain for archery was best expressed at Thermopylae (480BC) by Dieneces the Spartan - when he was told that the Persian arrows flew so thick that they blocked out the sun, he replied, "So much the better, then we will fight in the shade."
This just looks incredible.... no way they could have done these effects 5 years ago. Just unreal..... I wish I was 13 again for stuff like this
:I'lljustpretendtobe13:
I've been reading this thread, thinking....'whatever'. I just watched the trailer....holy crap. I won't camp out, but it's going to be one of the few movies that I will insist on seeing on the big screen.

I dunno. If it's the trailer that's on Yahoo that'd got all of your guys' panties in a twist, I don't get it. It looked okay--I'll probably see it on DVD (only because I don't go to the theater much these days), but it didn't make me think it was anything special.
It sort of reminded me of Independence Day for some reason.

I think it's because I've had the 80's (or whatever) cartoon notion stuck in my head...the trailer is NOTHING like the cartoon....yes, I had some Independence Day comparisons running through my head, but ID had/has some of the best special effects I've ever seen.
