Superhero Hype! caught up with Transformers star Jon Voight at the Hollywood premiere of Warner Bros.' "Poseidon," and as much as we tried to get him to talk about the big screen version, the distinguished actor remained tight lipped.
"They gave me the script and they had a guard wait until I read it," he joked. "This is top secret stuff. I've taken one look at the script and they're keeping it very hush hush. It's very impressive I will say," Voight said.
He did say however, "It's going to be live action and going to be mostly CGI stuff."
Voight will play U.S. Secretary of State Keller in the film.
Transformers Teaser Site Launched Source: DreamWorks Pictures
June 8, 2006
DreamWorks Pictures has launched the official website for director Michael Bay's big screen Transformers adaptation. The site, which features a Flash intro and the teaser poster artwork, is counting down to when the teaser trailer is revealed.
Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox, Josh Duhamel, Jon Voight, Bernie Mac, Tyrese Gibson, Rachael Taylor, Amaury Nolasco, Kevin Dunn and Ronnie Sperling star in the sci-fi action-adventure written by Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman. It hits theaters on July 4th, 2007.
Introduced in 1984, the "Transformers" brand took the world by storm with its compelling saga of the Autobots versus the Decepticons. The innovative "Robots in Disguise" resulted in a tremendously successful toy line from Hasbro and Takara, comic book series, television program and an animated feature film.
John Rogers on Transformers Source: Newsarama
September 22, 2006
John Rogers, who wrote the first draft of the Transformers script, talked to Newsarama about the movie. Here's a clip from the article:
Yep, I wrote the first draft. I've seen the shooting script, and it's about half and half. They've moved one of the storylines a little earlier, and they've increased the big military aspect, whereas I had focused on some of the smaller, personal stories. Yeah, you know, I get a credit, we'll see. We'll see what it looks like eventually. It goes from me, to the other guys, who work quite extensively with Michael Bay, so using what he needs to get his vision across. The characters are the same, the rough plot's the same, and I've seen the mock-ups of the battles and it's gonna be frickin' huge. It'll be a lot of fun to see.
Transformers hits theaters on July 4.

Definitely looking forward to this and hoping it's done well.

Michael Bay on the Transformers Trailer Source: ShootfortheEdit.com
December 14, 2006
Transformers director Michael Bay has made a new post on his official message board talking about the teaser trailer that will hit next week:
It has been awhile since I've posted. Finished shooting end of Sept., on budget, just came under $300,000. I beat Pearl by a $100,000. I had a great time making this movie, the cast and crew were amazing.
Today I just finished the new teaser for Christmas and I think it's AWESOME! The trailer mixing Guru who does all the big summer movies turned to me and said with a little more ump - it was "f**king awesome".
I think some of my films have had good teasers but this one is just makes a statement. It's hard edged to show we are not a silly "toy" movie. We show just hints of robots - and almost none of our epic shots are in this teaser, but the movie just looks big. I had a room full of 20 Tranformers adult geeks, and they all applauded at the end.
It comes out the 22nd - see it in the theater! Let me know what you think.

In that link that Ryna posted that shows the pictures of the charachters you can see 3/4 of the way down Megatron. He looks stuuupid. His character looks entirely to busy. Nothing like the original which is a real shame. They stayed pretty true with the autobot characters it seems including Optimus Prime. Wonder why they decided to screw up megatron so badly?
Not nearly as excited anymore.

Those are the "proto-forms" before they take on Earth alternate forms.
