Yes, the magic pencil trick was awesome. Really great.

I also love the elusive madness re: he Joker's scars.

My main beef with the film is that it was too long and that they tried to do too much, which took away from how good it was, and took away from the enjoyability factor. I liked it a lot, but I didn't love it, and I'm not frothing at the mouth about it. In Bruges is a LOT better a movie, and it's one that's rather dark as well. Excellent film and one of the best comic book movies. I bet Ledger does win an Oscar, and he should, even without the hype about his death. Still, this is NOT anywhere NEAR the top 10 ever. Not even close. That talk is simply laughable.

Spoiler:
I like the arc they had for 2 face, but it's balls that they killed him (also made it waaaaaaaaaaaaay too obvious. I'm no comic book fan, but even I knew he was becoming 2 face in his first courtroom scene). They stuffed way too much of his stuff in there, and then killed him off inexplicably. Still and all, I love how they ended it with Batman being the bad guy. I hade sappy endings
Spoiler:

Dude, Stout, you do know that Dent probably isn't dead, right? The whole point of the movie is that Batman doesn't kill people, and if Dent is dead, don't you think it would have been a bigger deal? Gordon also said at the end that 5 people were dead and then Batman said blame him--he did not include Dent in that tally. (Also, and this is only rumor, the next movie is supposed to continue the Dent story) I think one of the things to remember is that earlier Batman pushed Merone off the building and he didn't die--I think that might have been a foreshadow to Dent falling. I don't think he's dead.

Just got back from seeing it. There was a guy in the theater that had facepaint on resembling the Joker. Best movie that I have ever seen.

Curious for those that saw it.

I wrote in my review on my blog that it could be the first superhero movie to be nominated for Best Picture.

Anyone else agree?

Haven't seen it yet, but richard roeper stated that in his review. A lot of it is about momentum and this has a ton behind it.

Also thanks to everybody for being careful with spoilers, nothing more annoying then reading a thread on the movie but having to be extra careful not to read any big spoilers.

I just saw it as well, and a phenomenal movie it was.

The one thing that bugged me, and it had nothing to do with the movie, is that when the Joker would do something on screen, at least half the time the theater burst into laughter.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this movie wasn't supposed to be funny, and Ledger's Joker wasn't at all supposed to be comical.

Wow, my buddy and I didn't get that at all. They didn't say anything about him living, and only talked about how they're going to cover it up. If you're right, then I'll be much more happy about it. I still think it was too long, but that would erase one of the few problems I had with it.

Watched it last night and I'll watch it again tonight.

Wow. Great movie.

Solid performances all around. Ledger was phenomenal.

Eckhart, Bale, and Ledger, what a great trio.
