Incredible. I've never seen a movie that's been so low-key yet so absolutely intense and in-your-face at the same time. Great script, Macy and Baldwin play perfectly off of each other, the lead actress, whose name escapes me at the moment, nailed the performance, and even Ron Livingston played a fantastic role. A must see!

I agree Stout. The Cooler was very entertaining. Sort of Film Noir. I'm beginning to feel that Alec Baldwin is the most under-rated actor in Hollywood these days. The actress you are referring to I believe is Maria Bellow.
I noticed the director is Wayne Kramer - is that the same Wayne Kramer who was in the MC-5's (and now a solo rocker)?

No. The director of The Cooler is from South Africa. Before The Cooler he directed two indie films, Blazeland and Crossing Over.
