Surprised there wasn't a thread about this movie--although I could have swore there was. Searched for the title and for Jodie Foster and nothing came up.
This film was by the director of The Crying Game, and it is as tight as you can get. Yes, it's a vigilante movie, and yes, we have seen it before with Charles Bronson, but if you want to catch something with top-notch acting, this is it. Both Jodie Foster (who is good in just about anything) and Terrence Howard (quickly becoming one of my favorite actors) are great. What is most surprising, though, is how good the script is--especially for a movie in a well-known genre. It keeps you guessing, and there is a good amount of angst the entire time, but not only from Foster's vigilante character, but Howard's cop.
Just a well-done thriller all around and didn't deserve some of the poor reviews it got for being "too much like Death Wish.

I enjoyed it, but it really was a remake of "Death Wish." 3 out of 5 stars.
