TCM to tribute 50 best filmed movies...

Searched the site and couldnt find any info, but CNN had a ticker blurb about TCM paying tribute the 50 best films cinematographically ( heh, is that a word?!?!?) speaking starting Nov 4th with none other than Citizen Cane.

What else does anyone think will be on there. Id like to see the original Scarface in there. It looks cheesy now, but was very experimental at the time, and if The Searchers and Psycho arent in there, it'll be a travesty. Hell for that matter almost any John FOrd or Hitchcock film should be in there. I WANNA SEE THE LIST! Someone smarter than me go find it!

I need to get a TIVO.

Well, Citizen Kane definitely...

But also probably:

Double Indemnity
Sunset Boulevard
Vertigo
Psycho
The Searchers (one of the best shot Westerns ever)
Taxi Driver

If we're going off of the industry "standard" top films of all time, you had better include "Casablanca"...along with other movies that (in my opinion) don't hold up to the test of time...

Well, from the title of the thread, I guessed the list would include films with great cinematography. Casablanca is a classic, but it is not known for it's stellar camerawork.

And I'm not sure why you'd want to post something as negative as that either, Ken.

I'd have to say that if Apocolypse Now isn't on there it's a travesty as well.

While we're on Coppola - The Godfather I or II were beautifully photographed as well.

Definitely Taxi Driver.

I'd make a case for recent films like Saving Private Ryan and Traffic, too.
