Saving Private Ryan

I am really surprise there is not thread on this.

I watched it again over the weekend and did not realize how many good actors or big names other than Tom Hanks and Matt Damon were in this movie.

Tom Sizemore
Edward Burns
Barry Pepper
Adam Goldberg
Vin Diesel
Giovanni Ribisi
Jeremy Davies-Had not really done anything until Lost, but cool to pick out
Ted Danson
Paul Giamatti-Has come a really long way since the movie
Dennis Farina
Nathan Fillion-The wrong private Ryan and the captain of Serenity

I love this movie by the way.

One of my favorites of all time. I can't wait until this one is released on Bluray, with DTS-MA sound.

Entertaining flick. Overrated though.

Do you think even the opening sequence was overrated? I think that was one of the best 15 mintues to open a movie ever.

The opening sequence gave me a very abbreviated version of war trauma. I had a hard time watching the rest of the movie because of it. Too disturbing.

The sound is amazing. I have knocked pictures off of the walls of my neighbors playing that scene loudly.

Good times.

No, that was definitely the highlight of the film.

Agreed.

This one is on my rewatch list. I haven't seen it since watching it in the theater.

It almost made the rest of the movie too slow for me.

That is the best opening sequence ever.
