WOW!

A great comic and a true revolutionary in his field.
I will truly miss his commentary.
Thanks for the laughs and your insight, George.

He was really a giant and cut through the crap like only a few others could. Sayonara, George.

Couldn't have said it any better.

Watching him evolve as a comic over his career was one of the most interesting things I've ever experienced.

I can't help but wonder how he wants his services to be held. I think he'd have some pretty concrete ideas on the matter.

RIP

I'm guessing he's already put some plans together regarding that.

Two high profile public figures gone in about a week.

From his book Napalm and Silly Putty:

“When I die, I don’t want to be buried, but I don’t want to be cremated either. I want to be blown up. Put me on a pile of explosives and blow me up. Or throw my body from a helicopter. That would be fun. One stipulation: wherever I land, you have to leave me there. Even if it’s on the mayor’s lawn. Just let me lie there. But keep the dogs away.”

A comedian, a philosopher, and (at least in my mind) a leader of free thought.

Tragic, so sad. I read it this morning and was shocked...well, not that shocked since he was old and you could see his health failing in his last stand up special.

Just a great person, in my mind who didn't take the B.S. and spoke openly and freely to people. Always called people out on illogical nonsense, and challenged people to think about things just a little bit deeper than they normally do.

Thanks George. You will be missed.

Very sad. George was a very talented person. Besides being a comedian, he was not that bad an actor. I actually saw the movie Jersey Girl a few weeks ago and he was a pretty good actor. The movie was bad but he did a good job playing Ben Affleck's dad.
