Normal running time of 3:20, this add 50 minutes to the film, including the following highlights:
1. Showdown with Saruman
2. Witch King and Gandalf fight
3. Aaragorn looks in the Palantir and faces Sauron
4. Faramir falling for Eowyn
5. More Paths of the Dead
And some great special features I guess....
Cannot wait!
Mike

Unfortunately, I'm waiting for it for a Christmas present. That's okay, because I know I'm getting a home theater system and I'm sure Pellanor Fields sounds great in surround!

Yes, I really am pumped about those parts...the Saruman part is pretty crazy they said, and looking in the palantir is creepy...so awesome!
Couldn't find a picture of the Mouth, but I found this from a 2003 article:
- ?The Mouth of Sauron scene changes the emphasis of the entire final battle between men and orcs at the Black Gates. In the theatrical cut, Aragorn and Co. ride up to the gates, they open, and orcs come out to fight. In the extended version, they are greeted by the Mouth of Sauron (played by the Matrix's Train Man, Bruce Spence), who has pointy teeth and a pointy helmet that covers his eyes (he doesn't need them, see? He's just a mouth). He rides out to show the heroes Frodos mithril vest, recently stolen by the orcs at Cirith Ungol, and to let them know that Frodo is dead and the ring is on its way to Sauron. Aragorn believes him, and the heroes despair. Going into battle at the Black Gates, the heroes have no hope at all it's their last stand for sure, and Aragorn's line for Frodo refers to his sacrifice, not to buying time.'
By the way, anyone else play the extended movies with the actors' commentary?? I think they are great in the LOTR movies!

I am really looking forward to this. I have been since the movie was in theaters.
So far I have resisted the urge to buy it. My wife hates it when I buy stuff for myself in November/December becuse I am difficult to shop for in the first place. Even moreso when I start buying items that are potential presents.
It's going to be so great to see those added scenes...when I just finished reading the books again a few weeks ago, the scene when they show Aaragorn and the army of Gondor the mithril armour....the grief they must have suffered...
Just can't wait to see all that stuff. Especially Aaragorn showing himself to Sauron in the Palantir...
Did I ever mention that I went to that big LOTR marathon last year in the theaters when ROTK came out? Where they showed the first two extended versions and premiered ROTK right after, the night before.
Yeah, I'm a geek.

Yeah, I'm a geek.
I'm jealous.
I could be that big of a geek, if I only had the opportunity.

Yeah, I'm a geek.
I would have been there if i could have gotten tickets
I'm still VERY angry that the scouring won't even be in the final extended edition (thanks to JOTR)...buuuuuut...DAMN, I cannot wait for these additional scenes! They aren't fluff, which has me excited.
