Radio

Have any of you seen the previews for this yet?

It stars Ed Harris and Cuba Gooding JR.

It looks like it could be a really good movie and one of the few so far this year to come out that might get some Oscar attention IMO!

I think Ed Harris is a highly underrated actor and Gooding looks like he puts on one helluva acting job playing a guy that is mentally challenged.

Plus the story line is intertwined with FOOTBALL!

How do you figure? He gets nominated for an Oscar almost every year, so I wouldn't call him underrated.

Maybe he means that to the public, he's not as popular as bigger name actors, but he's probably just as good.

Big difference to me between being nominated and winning. He has deserved an oscar before and may again afetrr this role from the glimpses Ive seen Gooding as well!

Plus how many movies do you really see Ed Harris in? I guess that could be his choice but if someone was highly thought of in general wouldnt you expect more roles? Just curious?

He's got a very nice resume.

Whether he's won or not doesn't matter to me. He's definitely an Oscar-worthy actor.

How many movies should he be in? He's in at least one a year on average, and that's pretty good compared to other actors in Hollywood.

He's consistently given awards and accolades, and he is a household name. He isn't Tom Hanks, but he still is a very highly-thought of actor.

Previews make it look kinda good. People think a lot about Cuba's winning the Oscar for Jerry Maguire. What people don't realize 3 of his last few movies were Rat Race, Snow Dogs and Boat Trip. He needs a good performance here.

The movie looks ok, but unfortunately, to me, it looks horribly cliched. I kept thinking of Rain Man meets Remember the Titans. But the presence of Ed Harris DOES give it some respectibility.

Yeah, his resume is odd. He has several outstanding movies and some real dogs. I thought his performance in this was excellent, although I wasn't real impressed with the film.

Kirk Lazarus: Everybody knows you never go full retard.
Tugg Speedman: What do you mean?
Kirk Lazarus: Check it out. Dustin Hoffman, 'Rain Man,' look retarded, act retarded, not retarded. Counted toothpicks, cheated cards. Autistic, sho'. Not retarded. You know Tom Hanks, 'Forrest Gump.' Slow, yes. Retarded, maybe. Braces on his legs. But he charmed the pants off Nixon and won a ping-pong competition. That ain't retarded. Peter Sellers, "Being There." Infantile, yes. Retarded, no. You went full retard, man. Never go full retard. You don't buy that? Ask Sean Penn, 2001, "I Am Sam." Remember? Went full retard, went home empty handed...
