Come on, Arthur, you have to give us more than 2 sentences on the movie.
That said, it is a very good representation of D-Day, although without the gruesome realism of the beginning of Saving Private Ryan. This one has the attack on the beach, but it also has the logistical parts of D-Day as well with the generals planning the attack. All-Star cast as well.

Yes, this is definitely one of the all time great war movies. One of my favorite long camera moves is in this film. The over head camera follows the French troops charging over the bridges and along the docks. EPIC. John Wayne. The story is that he got paid an obscene amount of money for what was barely more than a cameo. Yes an amazing cast. One of the best all star casts ever assembled. 4 hour epic always shown on AMC on Memorial Day. And unlike Saving Private Ryan this was truly an international effort and you definitely got that sense of scope. One of the all time great war movies.
