My mom does not like animated films, and she actually enjoyed this movie.
Since everyone has probably watched this movie, I was thinking that here we could try to predict what will happen in Shrek 2 (In addition to discussing the movie).

I've seen this movie over 100 times and still get a kick out of it. Everytime my friends come over with their little daughter she goes straigth for Shrek. She is too cute to resist so I pop in Shrek no matter what I was watching before she got there.
My favorite scenes.
When the guard breaks a hand mirror to intimidate the Magic Mirror.
When the Gingerbread man tell Lord Farquaad to "Eat Me!"
No matter how many times I see Shrek, I still die laughing after each of those scenes.
The only thing I would change about the movie would be to get rid of the Robin Hood scene. I always fast forward through that spot.
I liked it the first time I saw it, and it is good if taken as a parody/satire, but after a few viewings, it gets a little tired, and the animation just isn't that great. It's good for what it is, but frequently people make it out to be something greater than what it is.

My favorite scene is when Shrek goes to see Lord Farquad for the first time, and the greeter (wearing the big head) gets scared and tries to runaway - but ends up falling over the divider things. I laughed my butt off for 5 min when I first saw it.
Also, the donkey just flat out rules!

That's my favorite scene, too!
My other favorite is the Robin Hood one. Something about the Merry Men doing their best West Side Story act just cracked me up.
No idea what part 2 will involve but I'll see it.

Watched this over Spring Break... laughed just as much as the first time.
What a fun movie...

I just watched it. I had actually never seen it before. The kids talked me into watching it for our weekly Sunday night family movie. Next week is Shrek Two. It was pretty funny, but I’m just not much for animated films. I actually thought it was would be funnier due to all of the publicity that it got. (you don’t want to know what they talked me into watching after shrek two, I might not even post about it…)

I've never seen S2 and have only watched about half of the first. This is what happens when you have no kids.
Now, you have to tell us what the talked you into afterwards. Was it the Wiggles?
