Movie A Day: Jacob's Ladder

Figured I'd finish my week with one of my top five movies of all time.

One of those movies that kind of came in under my radar. I rented it not too long ago on a whim and it blew my mind.

Plot: A Vietnam vet begins experiencing terrifying hallucinations while working as a postal worker in NYC. His life begins coming apart at the seams, and as he contacts members of his old platoon he learns that something very wrong is happening to him.

Honestly, that's a rough outline of the plot and as anybody else who's seen this can attest it's hard to talk about this movie without giving too much away.

This is another movie that creeped the almighty hell out of me. The scenes in the hospital alone create an atmosphere unmatched in most horror movies. This was, IMO, Adrien Lyne's (Fatal Attraction, Unfaithful) finest film. With a plot that'll keep you guessing and on the edge of your seat, this is a classic that deserves much more praise than it's received.

We watched this movie on cable TV one night and the next morning, my TV was dead. I never watched it again. I'm sorta scared to.

Absolutely loved this movie when I saw it, but it's been awhile...time to check it out again.

Honestly I have never seen this movie. Is Tim Robbins in it? I am not a big Tim Robbins fan, one for his retarded political stunts and two, he just isn't a good actor IMO. I did like Shawshank though

I guess I should check it out.

On that note, this week, starting today, is arthurraccoon's week.

I had to watch this movie a few times to take it all in. It was definitely very creepy. I was pretty young at the time, I may need to revisit this one.
