Anger Management (maybe spoilers)
Some funny parts, Nicholson was great, but overall, your basic, Sandler flick, and they are just getting less and less funny.
Most of the funny parts were seen in the trailers, like the plane incident. Plus, I had the plot exactly figured out from the first time you see Jack on the plane.
On the good side, the trailers for Matrix and Pirates of the Caribbean were awesome, more enjoyable than the movie itself. The Matrix trailer in particular was very cool.

I thought the parts with Heather Graham, Woody Harrelson, and Rudy Giuliani were hilarious, and they weren't in the trailers at all. This was actually one of the better movies in a while for not giving up the jokes ahead of time.
It's an Adam Sandler flick, not the latest Scorsese epic. It sounds like you're trying to grade it likes it's highbrow fare.

You have to take Mike's opinion with a grain of salt...he is really into chick flicks.

It wasn't the funniest Sandler movie, but it was good for a few laughs. I for one didn't figure out the plot right away. I take comedies for face value and don't look for twists. I recommend just going and enjoying it without thinking too much.

Wow, I was just grading it like a movie I saw...I've seen many Adam Sandler movies, and this one made me laugh the least. Sure, Rudy was funny, Heather a little too, but overall, me really laughing in a comedy over just a few funny scenes doesn't do it for me.
I love comedies, and I expect to laugh A LOT...kind of like Bringing Down the House...also a movie with some funny parts, but overall, not the laugh fest you hope for.
Even my wife commented on the fact that there were parts you were supposed to laugh at, but for some reason, the theatre was quiet.

I went to go ssee this last night, but there were these ladies next to us giving running commentary and laughing at everything overly loud, even at things that just aren't supposed to be funny at all, like laughing just because the scene changed. Their commentary was like a play by play color announcer for the move and it was so loud and obnoxious I couldn't stand it. It got so bad, I started thinking it would be a weird twist if I had to go to anger management classes myself for what I wanted to do to them while watching the anger management movie.
Anyhow, my wife and I finally just left and got passes to see something else later. We were at the scene when Nicholson moved into his apartment and to be honest, I had only laughed at one thing so far anyways.

When a movie relies on unadvertised celebrity cameos for most of its laughs, you know you are in trouble! :o

The movie ws pretty weak. We rented it last night on DVD and the funniest part in the movie was in the Special Features - Deleted scenes when Jack & Adam go to visit the mother in the hospital.
I hate scenes where a crowd of people cheer for a couple to get togetehr - like at the end of this one, Crocodile Dundee, etc.
I didn't think Rudy's scene was funny at all. I think this could have been a real funny movie but it didn't come through at all.
BTW Marissa Tomei gets hotter and hotter every time I see her.

The MPAA rating of PG-13 should have been a good enough warning sign for this film. How you can have Jack Nicholson and Adam Sandler do a movie about anger without dropping the f-bomb is beyond me. A better approach would have been an R-rating. They were hoping for a younger audience I guess.

The first time I "watched" this movie was on a plane when i went back east last monoth. We didn't rent the headsets, but there was this idiot sitting across the aisle from me, just laughing hysterically & yelling at the monitor throughout the whole movie.
It was a red-eye flight & we were trying to get some sleep, but this jack-a-lope would not shut up.
Well, this weekend we rented it & we knew it was going to be campy. Tehre were some funny parts, but I agree with the cameos - Bobby Knight, Rudy G, Roger Clemens, Derek Jeter, John McEnroe, etc.
Also, I hate it when groups of people do that too - good reference to Croc Dundee.....
Overall, it was good for a few laughs, but I wouldn't waste more than a buck or two on this flick.
