Stinks that Winslett didnt get the Best Supporting Actress nom and is facing a buzzsaw for Best Actress.

Nice to see Mickey Rourke get the nod.

I have a feeling Benjamin Button is going to clean up though.

Button sooo overrated. Pitt shouldnt even be nominated. He looked acted and sounded just like Brad Pitt the whole movie minus the make-up.

If Forrest Pitt wins a lot of Oscars it is because people slept through most of it.

Mulli... are you feeling OK? Or did you just dislike B. Button that much? (I haven't seen it, but I think Slumdog is so extremely well-crafted and so unusual while still being 'classic' hollywood-bollywood love-story-overcomes-all-odds, that I won't be surprised if it does very well indeed.)

completely agree. If Slumdog doesn't win out of that bunch of movies, something's very, very wrong with the Academy... even more so than usual.

Oh, and The Dark Knight not being nominated for Best Picture/Director/Screenplay over The Reader is a joke IMO. But I guess it just goes to prove Ricky Gervais' holocaust/nazi theory is alive and well.

saw this on another site and it's pretty damn funny:

"it's hilarious that Robert Downey Jr. is getting an Oscar nomination for wearing blackface in a movie about how stupid it would be if someone did blackface to try to get an Oscar nomination"

Completely agree. It's one thing for The Dark Knight to get snubbed, but to get snubbed for The Reader??

Ugh, I already watched CCBB, the Reader, and Slumdog in one day. I do not recommend it.
