My Fantasty Football league disbanned.....

After almost ten years.

It was a keeper league with full offense and defense rosters.

The guy that was running it got burned out or something.

My team was set up to kick ass next year too.

That really stinks KoC.

I just got invited to one that is going to draft in Vegas and is a $200 buy in. I am debating if I am going to take it....that's pretty hefty but man what a payout!!!

I think Yahoo has the first mock draft up. LT went first. JJ Arrington went in like the 2nd or 3rd round. Boldin and Fitz were like 3rd or 4th round.

Will this site start up a league opened to everyone?

I am in a Dynasty league, which means you keep the same roster year in and year out and replace only 3 rounds of rookies and drop a like number of players. Very challenging. My team was old at RB so I traded Priest Holmes to get the #4 pick in the rookie draft (Arrington) and Kevan Barlow.

Unfortunately I don't have Priest's backup and it cost me the title last year (finished second) so I had to ditch him.

Why would you ever trade Priest. He's still a fantasy monster.

Barlow was a major bust. Arrington will be anywhere from 1000-1100 this year if he gets his touches. I think Hambrick and SHipp may take a lot of his goaline carries also.

Because Priest has 1 or 2 years tops. In a dynasty league, you need to prepare your team for the future. When I had Priest, I knew the strategy would be to ride him for a year or two and then dump him while he still had value. Unfortunately he broke down sooner than I expected and you simply can't have him unless you have Larry Johnson after Johnson blowing up last season.

P.S. Don't sell out Barlow just yet. I think he is a servicable #3.

Well you got to go with the Shaq theory. Do you want a monster who can get you to the championship for a few more years or do you want the young guy with potential who wil be around longer. I'll take the monster and draft a guy like Reggie Bush or Deangelo next year.

Update to this..through various trades, I have managed to turn Micheal Bennett and Priest Holmes into:

The #4 rookie pick, Marcel Shipp, Kevan Barlow, and Steven Jackson.

Interesting Chris, in my keeper, last week I traded:

Kevin Jones, the 5th Rookie pick and the 2nd pick in the 3rd round (about pick #26)

for

Shaun Alexander
Michael Bennett
Mewelde Moore (Bennett's backup)

Thought it was a good trade for me...

I needed more RBs, and the 5th pick wasn't going to get me one--the first 4 picks were probably going to be all RB, including Arrington.

That's a nice trade. Kevin Jones stock is about as high as it will be all year. The guy is going before Ahman Green in a lot of leagues...craziness. I doubt he finishes in the top 10 RBs. Meanwhile, Alexander WILL be a top 5 as long as he stays healthy. Getting Bennett is just gravy on that.

That really sucks KoC. That sounded like a great league, if anyone wants to start up a league like that or has an opening, shoot me a PM, I'm looking for just such a league.

Bring on the season!

I'd do it, if nothing else it would be an excuse to go to Vegas

I think Jones is a top-10 back (8, 9 or 10) by the end of the year. Defenses won't be able to put 8 in the box against him, so look for a bunch of big games.

Furthermore, I'd wager that Green doesn't finish the season. The Pack is going to have to lean on him more this year and I don't think he can hold up.

KOC, you should think about joining the yet to be formed ASFM money league. See the post in this forum...
