Now, to understand a bit more about my draft strategy, these are some of the alternate rules that the league follows:
TD passes only worth 4 pts, and only 1 pt is awarded for every 20 yds passing-a 300 yd passing game alone only gets you 15 pts-these combine to de-value QBs
Receptions are worth 1 pt-this puts a premium on receivers and backs who catch the ball
So, here's my team, with round and pick in that round:
Ahman Green-1.10
Eric Moulds-2.8 (My 4th-ranked receiver)
Eddie George-3.3 (Steal! He looks great)
Hines Ward-3.10 (Another steal! Looks great, had over 100 catches and led the AFC WR in TDs last season)
Todd Heap-5.3 (Wow! What a steal!)
Troy Brown-6.8 (People laid off him because he didn't have great numbers last year-but he missed a few games and underperformed in a few games due to injury-and he's healthy now!)
Eagles D-7.3 (A little early, but they were my 2nd-ranked D and with the Bucs already off the board and plenty of QBs left, I went for it)
Chad Pennington-8.8 (Another steal...check out his TD to INT ratio!)
Charles Rogers-9.3 (Maybe a reach, but my good friend is a master at picking what rookies and youngsters will stand out-and he tagged Rogers-said he won't do much early, but will break out in the last 3/4 of the season...and he's only depth)
David Akers-9.10 (Best K period...I took the first K-this is a good spot for one)
So, that's my roster thus far. A solid starting QB, Green starting at RB with George as a BACKUP, Moulds and Ward as my star starting WRs, with Brown a solid #3 starting WR, and a stud auxilliary cast of Heap, Philly D and Akers (guess I'll have to root for Philly now!)
Thoughts?
