I think we need to keep a running log of all the "best people" brought in by Trump who have zero business running our Government Operations. Here is this wonderful reminder from June of last year:

    Lynne Patton

Her biggest accomplishment was planning Eric Trump's wedding.

This 24-year-old is an emblem of the White House’s recklessness

If the name Taylor Weyeneth rings a tiny bell in your head, then you might be related to him. Otherwise, the 24-year-old was until a week ago an unknown if powerful member of the Trump administration: deputy chief of staff in the Office of National Drug Control Policy.

Weyeneth’s qualifications for the job, which falls under the executive branch and spends hundreds of millions to fight illegal drugs and manage the opioid crisis, are essentially nil. As reported in The Post, he did lose a relative to a heroin overdose and was very moved, making him uniquely qualified for no job whatsoever. His professional experience consisted of working on Donald Trump’s presidential campaign and, before that, working for a family firm that processed health products such as chia seeds, which is a spiffy résumé item if you’re aiming to make smoothies at Whole Foods.

Weyeneth’s alarming lack of qualifications raises a number of questions, principally: What in the world were they thinking? Didn’t the president not long ago declare the opioid crisis a public health emergency? Who put Weyeneth there and why?

“Mr. Weyeneth has decided to depart ONDCP at the end of the month,” the White House statement said. A spokesman said Weyeneth was not available to speak.

The announcement follows Washington Post stories that detailed Weyeneth’s rapid rise at ONDCP — in large part because of staff turnover and vacancies — and inconsistencies and inaccuracies on three résumés he submitted to the government.

Early last year, Weyeneth revised dates relating to certain jobs he held, including one at a New York law firm. A partner at the firm told The Post that Weyeneth was “discharged” because he stopped showing up for work.

The GOP is not only embarrassing to America, but to humanity itself.

Maybe “best” means “worst” in Trumpish.

TRUMP-ALLIED TELEVANGELIST WHO SAYS ONLY NON-BELIEVERS GET PTSD INVITED TO SPEAK TO MILITARY

A self described “Christian extremist” who believes American warriors are immune to post-traumatic stress disorder will be the featured speaker at a prayer breakfast at the nation’s largest military installation next week.

Televangelist Kenneth Copeland, a member of President Donald Trump’s Faith Advisory Council, is scheduled to speak at the behemoth Fort Jackson army base in Columbia, S.C. on February 1.

Copeland belongs to a breakaway sect of Christian “Prosperity Gospel“ preachers who preach that Christ helps believers get rich, and that the Christian God and his Messiah disapprove of government programs for the poor.

Copeland was among a group of Christian fundamentalists who gathered at Trump Tower to lay hands on Trump in 2015, praying to know whether the Lord wanted him to run for President. Last year, he issued an online “prophecy” in which he proclaimed, "Our time has come. For we are the Christian extremists.”

Copeland is a member of the President's Faith Advisory Council, a small group of fundamentalist Christians whose positions on social and other issues put them on the fringe edge of American religious believers. Moderate Christians pastors who have been excluded have described the group as a de facto Christian extremist fan club for Trump. Other members include Texas preacher Robert Jeffress, who has cited Biblical approval for ruling North Korea, and Jerry Falwell, Jr.
